  • The Monkey Sanctuary

    The Monkey Sanctuary Trust is a unique environmental charity dedicated to:

    • Promoting the welfare, conservation and survival of primates, particularly woolly monkeys.
    • Working to end the primate trade and abuse of primates in captivity.
    • Conserving natural habitats through education and sustainable living.
    • Promoting the rehabilitation of primates to natural habitats.

    *Please note that the sanctuary will only be open from 16 March 2008 to 30 September 2008, and is closed Fridays and Saturdays. For full details please see their website.

  • Dartmoor Zoological Park

    There are over 200 animals at Dartmoor Zoological Park: from tiny stick insects to Ben the Brown Bear or Solomon the Lion, all set in over 30 acres of beautiful parkland. Discover something different, learn something amazing and help us make tomorrow's world rich in animal life.

  • The Lost Gardens of Heligan

    The famous lost gardens that were reopened in 1991, not having had any visitors since the Second World War.

  • Polperro

    Polperro is a picture book village with narrow winding streets, and cottages perched on steep slopes overlooking a tiny harbour.

  • Daphne du Maurier

    Daphne began writing short stories in 1928, and in 1931 her first novel, 'The Loving Spirit' was published. It received rave reviews and further books followed. Then came her most famous three novels, 'Jamaica Inn', 'Frenchman's Creek' and 'Rebecca'. Each novel being inspired by her love of Cornwall, where she lived and wrote.

  • Jamaica Inn

    Jamaica Inn, Cornwall's legendary coaching house which was immortalised in Daphne du Maurier's novel of the same name, has stood high on Bodmin Moor for over four centuries.

  • Looe Golf Club

    Designed by six-times open champion, Harry Vardon, Looe Golf Club is set around the Bindown Beacon in an area of quite breathtaking beauty. The panoramic views from many points on the par 70 course are stunning: East are the peaks of Dartmoor and the Tamar Estuary, south are Looe Island and the Channel, West and North glorious countryside and the Cornish Moors. Renowned as a friendly club, Looe is delighted to welcome visitors. Green fees are competitive, tee times may be reserved and their Clubhouse provides excellent bar and restaurant facilities.

  • Bodmin and Wenford Railway

    Loco No. 5552 hauls the train out of Boscarne

     

     

     

     

     

    The Bodmin & Wenford Railway is Cornwalls only standard gauge railway. It operates mainly steam locomotives in the County of Cornwall, on a 13 mile round trip through the beautiful countryside.

  • The Snooty Fox

    The Snooty Fox Country Hotel & Restaurant

    The Snooty Fox offers an extensive menu with views over the Cornish countryside, and is highly recommended. 

  • The Copley Arms

    The Copley Arms is a charming inn and restaurant, set in the lovely village of Hessenford near Looe.
